All students who come on a Vida Trip will get international medical insurance that will cover most medical emergencies, a copy of the policy is sent to each volunteer including their coverage and policy number a week before the trip.
Students are required to bring a copy of their policy in the event of an emergency. In each country, there are specific protocols for treating patients, and depending on the case, treatments might be provided at a hospital or clinic.
